“Right back at it,” coach Jason Garrett said. “It is Wednesday morning right now. That’s what we told our players. We spent about two minutes wrapping up the Giant game, and all our energy and focus is on Oakland right now.”
A source said last week that Lee would have an outside shot of returning to play against the Raiders, but the Cowboys have been conservative with players coming back from hamstring injuries. With a short week of preparation it makes more sense to rest Lee.
Claiborne and Harris are also expected to miss the game, although Garrett did not rule either out, which is how he generally approaches injuries.
“The game is at 3:30 on Thursday,” Garrett said. “We are pretty close to it already, so we will see how they progress. The nature of our practices will be more walk-through, jog-through modes this week, so we really won’t get a chance to test those guys. But we’ll see how they respond the next couple of days. Certainly, they are players with experience enough that they don’t need to practice enough in order to play.”
