Cowboys missing three key players

December, 12, 2013
IRVING, Texas -- Thursday's Cowboys practice at Valley Ranch saw three key players miss the session due to injuries.

Linebacker Bruce Carter, cornerback Morris Claiborne and wide receiver Dwayne Harris missed practice because of hamstring injuries.

It appears doubtful these three players will play in Sunday's game against Green Bay.

Carter is a starting weakside linebacker who most likely will be replaced by Ernie Sims. Claiborne, the nickle corner, has been replaced by B.W. Webb, whose own poor play could have him sitting down in favor of Sterling Moore.

Harris, who re-injured his hamstring in the loss to the Chicago Bears, hopes to start running on Friday. Terrance Williams takes over on kick returns for Harris and Cole Beasley becomes the punt returner.

Linebacker Sean Lee (neck) practiced for the second consecutive day.
Calvin Watkins joined in September 2009. He's covered the Cowboys since 2006 and also has covered colleges, boxing and high school sports.
