OXNARD, Calif. -- With Ben Gardner’s season coming to an end with a shoulder injury, the Dallas Cowboys signed defensive tackle Zach Minter.

Minter had been in training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals and played two games last season for the Chicago Bears.

The Cowboys had only seven healthy defensive linemen before adding Minter. Dartwan Bush has been sidelined by a concussion suffered in the preseason opener against the San Diego Chargers. Terrell McClain has been sidelined since the first week of training camp with an ankle sprain. The Cowboys also traded Ben Bass to the New England Patriots on Tuesday.

To make room for Minter, cornerback Korey Lindsey was waived/injured. He suffered a hand injury. If he clears waivers he will revert to injured reserve and likely receive an injury settlement.
