Kitna: Henry had 'great heart for others'
By Tim MacMahon
IRVING, Texas -- Jon Kitna's path crossed briefly with Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, who died one day after falling out of the back of a pickup truck in what authorities described as a domestic dispute with his fiancée.
Kitna was the Cincinnati Bengals' backup quarterback in 2005, when Henry was a rookie.
"He got in a lot of trouble, but the one thing you couldn’t say about him was that he didn’t have a great heart for others," Kitna said. "As a rookie, that was Hurricane Katrina year. He had 18 family members living with him as a rookie, caring for them. They were displaced obviously from the floods down there.
"From everything I heard from people out there in the last two years, he had really made some positive changes in his life. I don’t know exactly what happened and everything, but it’s just unfortunate."
