Hall of Fame Game should help Cowboys
By Tim MacMahon
INDIANAPOLIS -- Some Cowboys veterans probably aren't too pleased with the extra week of training camp and additional preseason game that come along with the Hall of Fame Game.
It's fine with coach Wade Phillips, though.
"With our team, I think it’s a good thing," Phillips said. "We have a lot of young players. We had some young players that were hurt last year, or didn’t play a whole lot or played some and need more playing time. I can just see that helping."
It's Phillips' job to make sure the veterans aren't worn down by the end of training camp. Considering the fact that he's been (unfairly) ripped for running a soft camp, that shouldn't be a problem.
