Sam Hurd: Two TD drops 'terrible'
By Tim MacMahon
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Sam Hurd had four receptions for 35 yards in a rare start, but he'll remember the two balls he didn't catch.
Jon Kitna twice targeted Hurd in the end zone. Hurd, who started because Roy Williams was inactive due to a groin injury, got his hands on the ball both times. But he didn't hang on to either pass.
The first was a fade to Hurd, who went high to grab the ball but failed to secure it as he came to the ground. On the second throw, Hurd ran a crossing route just across the goal line and failed to make a diving catch that wasn't difficult by NFL standards.
"Man, I pride myself in catching every ball thrown my way," Hurd said. "I did my pushups [as punishment for the drop], but that was terrible.
"If it touches my hands, I should catch it regardless. Both of them have got to be touchdowns."
