Childress, John Garrett after same job
By Calvin Watkins
The coaching situations around the NFL are getting interesting every moment.
After Cowboys tight ends coach, John Garrett, interviewed for the Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator on Wednesday, there is now a report fromer Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress will interview for the same position on Saturday.
So far Dolphins coach Tony Sparano has interviewed four people for the position and two have Cowboys' ties. Other than Garrett, Sparano has talked to Chris Palmer who is the head coach of the UFL's Hartford Colonials. Palmer was the Cowboys' quarterbacks coach in 2006.
Brian Daboll, former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator and San Diego Chargers tight end and assistant head coach Rob Chudzinski have also interviewed.
We assumed Garrett might get promoted to a tight end/assistant head coach role with the team because his younger brother, Jason, is the head coach.
Garrett's contract with the Cowboys will expire shortly and it's uncertain if he wants to remain with the team.
