Cowboys have three coaching vacancies
By Calvin Watkins
The Cowboys lost their defensive line coach and interim defensive coordinator Thursday when Paul Pasqualoni left to become the head coach at the University of Connecticut.
Dallas currently has vacancies at defensive coordinator, defensive line coach and wide receivers coach. The Cowboys have interviewed numerous candidates for the defensive coordinator position and talked to Alabama assistant Bobby Williams regarding the wide receivers position.
This was Pasqualoni's second stint with the Cowboys. in 2008, he left to become the defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins, only to return late in the 2009 as the defensive line coach.
"He is a leader, a great communicator, a dedicated professional and a winner," Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said. "We are grateful to Paul for his contributions to the Dallas Cowboys and we wish him the very best with this new challenge."
This is the second departure for the Cowboys' coaching staff since Jason Garrett took over as coach. Last week, wide receivers coach Ray Sherman was told his contract would not be renewed.
The Cowboys could also lose tight ends coach John Garrett, who interviewed with the Dolphins about becoming their offensive coordinator.
