Cowboys might have staff changes for D

By Calvin Watkins

The Cowboys officially hired Rob Ryan as defensive coordinator on Wednesday, but only one part of the hiring process is complete.

Ryan has to hire a defensive line coach and quite possibly a linebackers coach.

Paul Pasqualoni, who served as the defensive coordinator the last half of the season, also coached the defensive line. But he is now the head coach at the University of Connecticut.

Reggie Herring, the linebackers coach, interviewed for the same position with the Houston Texans Wednesday. Ex-Cowboys coach and new Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips would like to hire Herring.

Ryan could make other changes to the staff.

Secondary coach Dave Campo and safety coach Brett Maxie are signed through the 2011 season, but it's not known if they will return.
