The conversations were about moving Ratliff, a three-time Pro Bowler, from nose tackle to defensive end because of his size. But Ryan along with new defensive line coach Brian Baker said Ratliff is suited to play tackle and some new things will be implemented to make him better.

"Oh no, he’s a defensive tackle for us," Ryan said. "He’s an excellent player. I can't wait to get to work with him. I already met him and what an encouraging thing that is. If they’re all like him, we’ll be in good shape."

However, Shaun Rogers, who played for Ryan in Cleveland, is on the market.

Rogers played nose tackle and some end for Ryan with the Browns and there is a thought he might be a good fit in Dallas. Some in the Cowboys organization feel Rogers can still play but an expected high salary might not fit here.

Rogers doesn't have any plans to visit the Cowboys, yet there are at least 10 teams interested.

"Shaun is a great player and he’s a super talent," Ryan said. "I’m sure he’ll have interest from a lot of folks?"

When asked would he recommend Jerry Jones take a look at Rogers, Ryan said, "I don’t think we’re allowed to talk about anyone else off the field. So I’m not going to answer that."
