Andrew Sendejo move to Jets a coincidence?
By Todd Archer
IRVING, Texas -- NFL teams will do just about anything for an edge in a game, so could that be the reason why the New York Jets claimed safety Andrew Sendejo off waivers from the Cowboys?
Sendejo at least has a working knowledge of Rob Ryan’s defense and the offensive personnel that could help Rex Ryan and his coaching staff this week.
Tony Romo noticed a difference in Rob Ryan’s defense during Monday’s practice.
“We have a packaged called 21 that’s just the personnel we use for the scout team and Rob had everything changed,” Romo said. “They had some stuff up before and so we get out there today and then all of a sudden he’s changed all the stuff they were doing before. It’s interesting. I think Rob probably thought maybe that was some of it because he changed all his stuff. That was pretty funny.”
Head coach Jason Garrett did not believe it was a coincidence either.
“Because I think he’s a really good player,” Garrett said. “And I think he’s a guy that did a lot of good things for us, and it didn’t surprise us at all that somebody would claim him. He’s a smart football player, and he’s very good in practice, took advantage of his opportunities in games, and I think he’s just a guy that they liked. Because we liked him to, and I think a lot of teams around the league liked him.”
