Tony Romo will take shot after pregame
By Tim MacMahon
ARLINGTON, Texas -- This shouldn't be as painful as last week for Tony Romo.
After a light throwing session with Jesse Holley a couple of hours before kickoff, Romo told ESPN's Ed Werder that he believes he will be able to get enough velocity on the ball once he takes a pain-killing injection for his fractured rib. Romo, who is wearing a protective vest, plans to take the shot after the Cowboys finish pregame warmups.
The real test, as Romo told Werder, will come when the quarterback needs to hold the ball an extra second on a third down when a pass-rusher is coming free. But Romo passed the early pregame test without any problems.
