Tashard Choice will start at running back
By Tim MacMahon
ARLINGTON, Texas – Tashard Choice will start at running back for the Cowboys with Felix Jones inactive Sunday due to a high ankle sprain.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that Choice, who is averaging only 2.6 yards per carry, will get the bulk of the workload.
Coach Jason Garrett indicated this week that Choice and rookie DeMarco Murray would split the workload.
Murray got twice as many carries as Choice in last week’s loss to the Patriots. Murray carried 10 times for 32 yards against New England. Choice, who has been the third-down back all season, had five carries for 14 yards and lost a critical fumble in Patriots territory in the first half.
As expected, Montrae Holland will start at left guard after re-signing with the Cowboys this week. Guard Daniel Loper, who also signed with the Cowboys this week is inactive, meaning undrafted rookie Kevin Kowalski will be the backup for the three interior offensive line spots again.
