DeMarco Murray pops Earl Thomas

By Calvin Watkins

ARLINGTON, Texas -- It was like old times for DeMarco Murray and Earl Thomas.

Early in the first quarter, Murray caught a pass in the flat and raced downfield and smashed into Thomas, knocking him back to complete a 17-yard gain.

Murray, who played college ball at Oklahoma, didn't mind knocking into Thomas, who went to Texas.

"You could say that. I have no love for Texas," Murray said with a smile. "You can say that it was fun to do that. I have a lot of respect for Earl Thomas. He's a great player and a great competitor."

Murray rushed 22 times for 139 yards with no touchdowns Sunday.

"He's a cutback guy," said Thomas, who finished with a team-high eight tackles. "He's patient, and he's turning out to be a star on the Cowboys. He had a good game. But I think we could have held him more than what we did today. There were a lot of misreads and he found the right hole and he stuck with the game plan and got the yards."
