By Dan Graziano
Three NFC East teams rank among the most valuable sports franchises in the world, according to Forbes Magazine's annual survey. The Dallas Cowboys are in a tie with Major League Baseball's New York Yankees for No. 3 on the list, with an estimated value of $1.85 billion. The Washington Redskins rank right behind them in fifth place at $1.56 billion, and the Super Bowl champion New York Giants rank ninth at $1.3 billion:
The Cowboys are the kings of the NFL thanks to their $1.2 billion stadium, which generates more than $100 million annually from premium seating and nearly $60 million from sponsors like AT&T, Bank of America, Ford Motor and PepsiCo.
All 32 NFL teams made Forbes' top 50. The Philadelphia Eagles rank 14th overall and seventh among NFL teams with an estimated value of $1.14 billion. So, of the top seven most valuable NFL franchises, four reside in the NFC East.
