Following the Cowboys' 24-17 victory over the New York Giants on Wednesday night at MetLife Stadium, Bryant was allowed to speak.
He talked for a little more than five minutes and only took football questions.
"This win was very big," Bryant said after catching four passes for 85 yards. "I felt like we prepared well during training camp and we just got to keep the flow going."
The Cowboys looked to have taken a business-like approach to the season opener. Losing the last two games to the Giants, including the 2011 regular season finale which cost them a playoff spot, burned deep into the Cowboys' soul.
This Cowboys team played with a quiet confidence and didn't seem threatened when things went wrong.
"I don’t want to say expect (to win)," Bryant said. "I felt like we prepared well. That’s what we got to do throughout the rest of our games, and we feel like we got a good team and we all got each others back."
Bryant saw all sorts of pressure Wednesday, from press man to zone. There were times Bryant was open and didn't get the ball, but when coverage was geared his way it opened the door for Kevin Ogletree.
Ogletree emerged with a career highs in catches (eight), yards (114) and touchdowns (two).
Bryant said having Ogletree come through with a solid game just adds to the offense. However, this is an offense where Bryant is supposed to excel. He's got a better command of it because of the offseason work he put in.
"I'm very comfortable; it takes time," Bryant said. "Learning everything is not easy, and I feel like you got to put the time and work in to get it done. I think Tony (Romo) and the guys do a great job of helping all the younger guys like myself."
Coach Jason Garrett said Bryant has been outstanding the entire preseason. At times during practices, Bryant is making one-handed catches and just muscling past defenders. His battles with veteran cornerback Brandon Carr are something to see.
"I felt like that’s my job. If I'm going to be put out there with Tony Romo, (Jason) Witten and Miles Austin, I got to know what the hell im doing," he said. "I felt like I dedicated myself to do that. Not only that, I had help from Tony, I had help from Miles, Wit, the rest of the guys. I felt like it helped me out a lot and I learned a lot, and I'm going to keep it moving."
