“I was moving pretty good with the tray,” Murray said with a smile.
That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s ready to return to his normal job of playing running back for the Dallas Cowboys.
Murray was confident enough Sunday about his return that he playfully taunted third-string running back Lance Dunbar, telling the rookie to enjoy the carries now because Murray is coming back. And Murray desperately wants to play this week against the Browns. It just isn’t his decision.
The Cowboys’ medical staff, which has yet to clear Murray to practice, might determine it’s in his best interests to miss his fifth consecutive game.
“I’m just doing what they tell me to do,” Murray said. “We have a great medical staff. They know what’s best for me. I’m dying to get out there, dying to get out there.
“At the same time, you’ve got to think what’s best for the team. You’ve got to think what’s best for yourself. I’m just trying to stay patient and mentally ready. I’ll be back out there before you know it.”
