Practice report: Four starters not taking snaps
By Todd Archer
IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys were without four potential starters in Friday’s practice Felix Jones, Tyron Smith, Jay Ratliff and Ryan Cook on their final practice before Thursday’s game against Washington.
Jones has injuries to both knees after taking a hit Sunday vs. Cleveland and did not take a snap during the portion of practice that was open to the media. Smith has a high left ankle sprain and was limited in Tuesday’s practice with Jermey Parnell taking the first-team snaps. The Cowboys hope Smith can at least serve as the emergency tackle on Thursday. Ratliff has not practiced this week because of a groin strain, but the expectation is he will be able to play. Cook will likely miss his third straight game because of a knee injury.
DeMarco Murray was not on the field during the media availability and appears headed to missing his sixth straight game.
Safeties Danny McCray (hip) and Charlie Peprah (concussion) looked they would at least go through a limited practice. Wide receiver Kevin Ogletree (concussion) is not practicing.
Defensive end Sean Lissemore (ankle) was on the practice field for the second straight day to go through on-field rehab and it is looking like he will miss his sixth straight game. Center Phil Costa (ankle) is also not practicing.
