Ratliff, Jones and Smith are questionable

By Calvin Watkins

IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys injury report listed three starters, Jay Ratliff, Felix Jones and Tyron Smith, as questionable for Thursday's game against the Washington Redskins.

Ratliff suffered a groin injury in the overtime victory against Cleveland and hasn't practiced all week. Josh Brent will replace him in the lineup if he doesn't play.

Jones hasn't practiced the last two days with a knee injury and if he's unable to play against the Redskins expect Lance Dunbar to start. Phillip Tanner and Dunbar share the first-team practice snaps.

Smith, who injured his ankle in the Browns game, was limited in practice the last two days. Smith said he's played with a high ankle sprain in college, but it's unknown if he'll participate Thursday.

Jeremy Parnell will get his first NFL start if Smith is unable to play.

The Cowboys could have two offensive starters making their NFL debuts on Thursday in Dunbar and Parnell.

Wide receiver Kevin Ogletree has been ruled out with a concussion, suffered late in the Cleveland game. Dwayne Harris and Cole Beasley will see more offensive snaps with Ogletree out as the third receiver.

Safety Charlie Peprah also has a concussion and was limited in Wednesday's practice. He has to pass his concussion test in order to be cleared to play. Peparah said he wasn't sure if he'll play against Washington. Peprah is listed as questionable.

Starting safety Danny McCray is questionable with a hip injury but there's a better feeling he will play against Washington. McCray, after injuring the hip, returned and finish the Cleveland game.

Center Ryan Cook (knee) is listed as doubtful on the injury report, pushing the team into some interesting situations at the backup offensive line spots. Outside of the five starters the Cowboys could have David Arkin and Kevin Kowalski up on the game-day roster. If something happens to one of their tackles, guard Derrick Dockery would move to tackle and Arkin or Kowalski would slide to one of the guard or even center positions.

Cornerback Mike Jenkins (back), fullback Lawrence Vickers (knee) and tight end John Phillips (ankle) are listed as probable.

The following players are not expected to play: Running back DeMarco Murray (foot), though he's listed as doubtful, center Phil Costa (ankle) and defensive end Sean Lissemore (ankle) are listed as out.
