Homecoming sweet for Robert Griffin III

By Todd Archer

ARLINGTON, Texas – Robert Griffin III had quite a homecoming.

“I always get emotional when I come back,” Griffin said. “I got to see my Baylor head coach, coach Art Briles. I had not seen him in a long time. It was good to see him and just be back in Texas. I had that feeling like I was back home where I spent many years. But it didn’t drive me through the roof emotionally as far as getting charged up for the game. It was a normal game even though it was a Thanksgiving game.”

Griffin matched his career high with four touchdown passes and threw for 311 yards on 20-of-28 passing. His touchdown passes were good for 68, 59 and 29 yards. His only mistake was a second-half interception by Charlie Peprah.

“He’s kind of Cool Hand Luke,” Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said. “He just handles himself and goes about his business, works extremely hard to prepare for a game. He knows how to avoid distractions. He focuses on his job and doesn’t seem to let anything bother him.”

Certainly not the Cowboys defense.
