Charlie Peprah's return should help defense
By Todd Archer
IRVING, Texas –Safety Charlie Peprah has been a Cowboy for only two months, but the defense will welcome his return this week against New Orleans as if he has been around for years.
Peprah missed the last three games because of a foot injury, which has led to more playing time for Danny McCray than the coaches had wanted, especially in coverage.
With the Saints offense, Peprah figures to play a large role Sunday.
“I pretty much practiced last week, just didn’t get the reps with the ones on defense,” Peprah said. “I was running scout team, but it was good to get the work and now I’m ready.”
Peprah has 11 tackles, one interception and two pass breakups in limited playing time. He has played against the Saints in the past with Green Bay.
“Before they had (tight end) Jimmy Graham, they were doing different stuff, more wide receivers on the field,” Peprah said. “Now he’s like a receiver, so their doing more but for the most part they’ve got a spread you out, toss the ball around offense, so it does help having a feel for them, but they execute what they do so well that I don’t think it gives me a leg up on anybody else.”
