Eric Frampton starts over Danny McCray
By Todd Archer
ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Cowboys have replaced Danny McCray in the base defense with Eric Frampton for Sunday’s game against New Orleans.
Frampton will be making the first start of his career. He was mostly a special teams player in Minnesota and has played in sub packages since joining the Cowboys earlier in the season.
McCray started 10 games after the Cowboys lost Barry Church for the season to an Achilles injury. He has been bothered by a hip injury and struggled badly against Pittsburgh last week. He is the Cowboys’ second leading tackler with 86 stops. He is tied for second on special teams’ tackles with 14.
Frampton has 12 tackles and leads the Cowboys with 14 special teams stops.
