Romo went through a series of end-zone throws to wide receivers Miles Austin and Dez Bryant as the bulk of the roster went through special teams’ drills Thursday. Romo had a cyst removed from his back in mid-April and did not take part in any of the organized team activities or minicamp.
Earlier in the week, he said he would be full-go next week after kicking up his conditioning work last week. In May, Romo said he would throw to receivers, tight ends and backs after the minicamp in hopes of catching up after missing so much time. The formal offseason conditioning program for the veterans is over, however, the players can continue to work out on their own. The rookies have another two weeks of work before their offseason commitments are over.
The Cowboys report to Oxnard, Calif., on July 19 and will have their first practice July 21.
“We feel good about him going into camp and being ready to go,” executive vice president Stephen Jones said.
