Play of the Day: Brandon Carr's pick
By Todd Archer
OXNARD, Calif. – Dez Bryant has been the story of training camp so far, but Brandon Carr made sure the receiver wasn’t on Wednesday.
In a final-minute situation, Carr made a leaping interception of a Tony Romo throw to Bryant in the end zone to end the offense’s drive. Carr ran stride for stride with Bryant and was able to shield the receiver away from the ball before getting his feet down in the end zone.
Trailing by two points and already in field-goal range, there is some question as to why Romo would make a throw like that in that situation or why Bill Callahan would call a pass play with the clock running down. On the play before Carr’s interception, Romo intentionally threw the ball away and lived another day.
On the next play, he went for the touchdown and Carr made him pay.
