Morris Claiborne hopes to run Monday

By Todd Archer

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Morris Claiborne is hoping to at least be able to do some running Monday to test his sore left knee after an MRI showed some tendinitis.

Claiborne hurt his knee Aug. 6 and has not practiced since.

“I haven’t ran on it since I hurt it,” Claiborne said. “It’s going to be good to get out there and get a little running in just to see where I’m at.”

With the starters not playing in the Hall of Fame Game, Claiborne has not played in a preseason game. The Cowboys have two more preseason games -- Aug. 24 versus Cincinnati and Aug. 29 versus Houston -- but the starters typically do not play in the final contest.

“I don’t want to say I need a whole month or something like that,” Claiborne said when asked how much time he needed to be ready for the Sept. 8 season opener against the New York Giants. “I’m feeling good, but, at the same time, I was feeling good at the time I came back to practice and I still couldn’t do anything. I’m just looking forward to this week and just taking it day by day.”
