Murray back on field, Ware still out

By Todd Archer

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray returned to the practice field Wednesday for the first time since suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, but defensive end DeMarcus Ware was among the players sitting out.

Ware missed Sunday's game because of a strained quadriceps. He was doing on-field rehab work Wednesday during the portion of practice that was open to the media. Murray, who was in shoulder pads and sweatpants, took part in all the drills while the session was open to the media.

Wide receivers Miles Austin and Dez Bryant were in full practice gear but neither ran any routes in individual work. Austin missed two days of practice last week but played in Dallas' 17-3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Starting offensive lineman Ronald Leary (knee) and starting defensive tackle Nick Hayden (back) were not at practice, but their injuries are not considered serious. Rookie linebacker DeVonte Holloman (neck) was also missing. Running back Lance Dunbar (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since missing the past two games.
