DeMarcus Ware is closer to playing
By Calvin Watkins
IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware said Thursday he's going to try and do some pregame warm-ups for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Ware has missed the past two games with a thigh injury, and though he's listed on the injury report as someone who didn't practice, he did participate in some individual drills.
"It's like night and day," Ware said of how his leg feels. "Last week it was probably like 50 percent, and it's totally different now. I did some drills today and I went through a lot of the bags and everything. Just getting everything strengthened to get back on the field."
Ware has battled through all sorts of ailments in his career, but never missed a game until Oct. 20 at Philadelphia.
"The way that everything is going, it’s progressing really well," Ware said. "I did a lot of the drills today. I’m starting to feel really good, and now I’m trying to get ready for this week. If not this week, try to get ready for next week. This is a day-to-day thing."
In a positive sign he will play Sunday, running back DeMarco Murray (knee) participated fully in Thursday's practice. Murray has missed the past two games.
The rest of the injury report looks this way:
Did not practice: Miles Austin (hamstring), Morris Claiborne (hamstring), DeVonte Holloman (neck), Danny McCray (toe and hip), Brian Waters (triceps), J.J. Wilcox (knee) and Ware.
Limited: Barry Church (hamstring) and Jason Hatcher (neck).
Full participants: Lance Dunbar (hamstring), Dwayne Harris (hip), George Selvie (shoulder) and Murray (knee).
