Officials breakdown: Walt Anderson
By Todd Archer
IRVING, Texas -- Walt Anderson will be the referee when the Dallas Cowboys take on the New York Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
It will be the third time in the last 12 games Anderson has worked a Cowboys game. He was on hand for the 2012 season finale loss at the Washington Redskins and the Week 6 meeting this year at AT&T Stadium between the Cowboys and Redskins, which Dallas won.
The Cowboys had seven penalties for 80 yards in that game. The Redskins had 12 for 104 yards.
This past Sunday, Anderson worked the Detroit Lions-Pittsburgh Steelers game and the crew called 14 penalties and had 12 accepted. The visiting Lions were penalized eight times for 45 yards. The Steelers had four penalties for 23 yards.
