Practice report: Claiborne doesn't practice

By Calvin Watkins

IRVING, Texas -- Given the short week, the Dallas Cowboys released a practice report Monday evening in preparation of their Thanksgiving Day game against the Oakland Raiders and cornerback Morris Claiborne missed the walk-through practice with a hamstring injury.

The Cowboys didn't have helmets and wore sweat pants.

With Claiborne out of this practice, it appears doubtful if he'll play against the Raiders. Claiborne re-injured his left hamstring in the victory over the New York Giants on Sunday.

In anticipation of losing Claiborne for Thanksgiving, the Cowboys signed Sterling Moore on Monday afternoon. Tight end Andre Smith was released.

"He’s come in and played well for us on short notice," coach Jason Garrett said of Moore, who was cut by the Cowboys prior to the start of the season. "Sterling had a good training camp for us and we just felt like we had some other guys we wanted to go with instead of him. But we like him and he’s been a guy who has stepped in and played well on a few different occasions for us. We’re excited to get him back."

Wide receiver Dwayne Harris also missed the Monday session with a hamstring injury. Terrance Williams (kick returns) and Cole Beasley (punt returns) replaced him in the lineup for the Giants game.

In a bit of good news, linebacker DeVonte Holloman (neck) was limited in practice. He missed practice late last week because his recovery from a spinal contusion isn't allowing him to play just yet. He's missed the last five games.

Among the players who missed the walk-through were: Justin Durant and Sean Lee with hamstring injuries. Jason Hatcher (neck) and DeMarcus Ware (thigh) were limited in practice.

Miles Austin (hamstring), Dez Bryant (back), Nick Hayden (ribs), George Selvie (shoulder) and J.J. Wilcox (knee) were full participants.
