Why the Cowboys pushed back practice
By Todd Archer
OXNARD, Calif. -- By the time you read this, you probably have had dinner, watched the nightly news and are settling in for your favorite TV show, especially if you are a multi-tasker.
The Cowboys have yet to start their practice. It won’t start until 8:15 p.m. ET.
Why did Jason Garrett push it back? Part of the reason was the physical nature of Sunday’s workout. Part of it has to do with the Cowboys’ schedule in the regular season.
“Just changing it up, we do a few of these; we call them night practices,” Garrett said. “We don’t have lights here, but we push it back as far as we can at a little later in the day and change it up. We play so many different times -- you play at noon; you play at 1 o’clock in the East; play at 3 or 4, you play night games; you play on Thanksgiving; you play on Christmas; you do all these kinds of things so routine is really good. I think we all benefit from that, but sometimes changing it up is a good thing for the team as well.”
The next time the Cowboys practice at 8:15 ET is Sunday.
