Cowboys wakeup call: Day 19
By Todd Archer
OXNARD, Calif. -- Every day of Dallas Cowboys training camp we’ll offer up a wake-up call that offers a quick review of the previous day and a preview of the current day.
Today’s schedule: The Cowboys are off.
Quick thoughts on Sunday’s practice:
- Morris Claiborne did not take any one-on-one or team work on Sunday but he did take some turns in seven-on-seven work after sitting out a few days with a case of knee tendinitis.
- Romo uses his eyes as well as any quarterback. On a waggle he was able to keep defensive end Tyrone Crawford inside to give tight end Gavin Escobar more room to clear for a nice gain down the sideline.
What I’m watching: With the last off day of work while in Oxnard, this could be a good day to do some laundry or play some golf. Decisions, decisions. It probably won’t be golf but there could be some pickup soccer at some point. Any good movies to go watch?
- Linebacker DeVonte Holloman needed to have a cut on his chin bandaged early in practice. Smith had his right ankle taped after individual drills. Neither missed a snap in team drills, except for the one where Smith was yanked.
They said it: “Tony always looks good in my eyes, always. He’s going to keep doing what he’s doing. He wants to be great. He wants us to be great. Us as receivers we want to do our job so we can be great, so we’re going to keep on working, not only us, but the whole offense, and become strong.” -- Wide receiver Dez Bryant on Tony Romo
