George Selvie says shoulder is 'good'
By Todd Archer
MIAMI – Dallas Cowboys defensive end George Selvie had his game end early Saturday because of a right shoulder injury.
“I just landed on it,” Selvie said. “I’m good.”
It was the same shoulder Selvie had surgery on in the offseason, but he didn’t think it was going to keep him out for long. Coach Jason Garrett said Selvie, who watched the second half in street clothes, would be re-examined on Sunday.
Wide receiver/returner Dwayne Harris had his night end because of ankle and hip injuries suffered on a 12-yard punt return in the second quarter. Harris had kickoff returns of 29 and 50 yards before getting hurt.
“You know when you’re out there with two big returns, it always seems like somebody is trying to get that hit on you,” Harris said. “It’s part of the game. You’ve got to keep playing, take the hits and keep going.”
Harris said if it were a regular-season game, he would have returned.
Running back Joseph Randle left the game early with an oblique injury. Tight end Jordan Najvar is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles in the fourth quarter. Safety Jakar Hamilton did not play because of a hamstring injury. Cornerback B.W. Webb (hip), cornerback Morris Claiborne (shoulder), safety Matt Johnson (hamstring), safety Jeff Heath (elbow/arm), safety Johnny Thomas, linebacker DeVonte Holloman (neck), linebacker Orie Lemon (concussion), tackle Darrion Weems (shoulder) and defensive tackle Terrell McClain (ankle) did not play because of injury.
