IRVING, Texas -- Sunday’s game vs. St. Louis will mark the third time in nin games the Cowboys will see Alberto Riveron’s officiating crew.

Riveron worked the 2011 season opener against the New York Jets and the Cowboys were penalized seven times for 40 yards. The Jets were not flagged. It worked the Week 15 meeting with the Redskins as well. The Cowboys had nine penalties for 70 yards and Washington had three for 25.

Last week Riveron worked the Cincinnati-Jacksonville game and called 10 penalties with six of them accepted. The Bengals were penalized four times for 33 yards and the Jaguars had two penalties for 15 yards.

IRVING, Texas -- Alberto Riveron’s crew will work Sunday’s game between the Cowboys and New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Riveron had only one Cowboys’ game last year, Dec. 19 vs. Washington at Cowboys Stadium. The Cowboys were penalized nine times for 70 yards, a high in flags and yards in the eight games during Jason Garrett’s interim run.

During the season we will look back at how the officials called the game from the previous week. In this case we will go back to the 2010 playoffs. Riveron’s crew worked the divisional round playoff game between Seattle and Chicago and called 11 penalties for 91 yards

Seattle was flagged three times for 29 yards and Chicago had eight penalties for 71 yards.
