McKINNEY, Texas -- Tony Romo shot par 72 at the Stonebridge Ranch Country Club's Hill Course on Tuesday to advance through pre-qualifying for the HP Byron Nelson golf tournament.
Romo finished in a 12-way tie for 20th place, the top 23 finishes go plus those who tied, to return to this course for a qualifier on Monday, when he must finish among the top four to earn a spot in next week's tournament in Irving, Texas.
Romo ended the day by making a par putt from six feet.
"It's a good start," Romo said. "Got to go a little low next week but if we hit it well enough then we'll have a chance and if we can make some of the putts we had today."
