The Cowboys selected Illinois defensive lineman Joshua Price-Brent in the seventh round of Thursday's supplemental draft.

The 6-foot-2, 321-pound Price-Brent declared for the supplemental draft because he was going to be ineligible for his senior season. There are some character concerns with Price-Brent, who was arrested for driving under the influence in 2009, but the Cowboys checked him out and determined he was worth the minimal risk of a seventh-round pick.

The Cowboys forfeited their seventh-rounder in next year's draft by taking Price-Brent, who had 29 tackles, seven tackles for losses, three sacks and three forced fumbles last season.

Price-Brent played defensive tackle at Illinois and will compete with Junior Siavii for a reserve spot behind Pro Bowl nose tackle Jay Ratliff. Seventh-round pick Sean Lissemore might also play some nose tackle, but he worked primarily at defensive end during organized team activities and minicamp.
