“He’s playing fantastic,” said Senden, who shot a 66 on Friday. “There’s no question why he’s playing very well and obviously he’s doing everything great.”
Said Mark Wilson, who was in Toms’ group the first two days and is also 9 under, “He was stringing me along for sure, but there’ s a lot of golf left so I’m excited for the weekend. But David’s hitting his irons right down the pun. He’s making most of his putts. It was fun to watch.”
Senden, who lives in Flower Mound and had a good group following him, finds himself in position for his best Colonial finish in nine tries. He tied for ninth in 2004.
“My ball striking is good and I’m putting really well,” Senden said. “The course is playing fairly soft, so scores are out there to get. Two new days this weekend, I’m looking forward to it.”
