Early starters finding a few birdies

IRVING, Texas -- Ricky Barnes, James Driscoll, George McNeill and Will Stricker are best so far at 3-under in today’s final round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship.

Barnes has completed nine holes, Driscoll 10, McNeill 11 and Stricker 15.

Eight players have already finished their rounds. Steven Bowditch and Paul Stankowski are best so far with 1-over 71s.

The wind gusts so far aren’t as severe as on Saturday when the average score was 3.34 strokes over par.

The final pairing of Ryan Palmer and Sergio Garcia goes off at 12:15 p.m.

A large gallery is expected to follow 17-year-old Jordan Spieth of Dallas, who is paired with Keegan Bradley in the 11:30 a.m. starting time.

Spieth is tied for eighth place at 1-under.
