After graduating the bulk of its 2009 playoff team, Dallas Carter has struggled to open the season, having scored just seven points in losses to Lancaster and Waxahachie.

The lone score came against Waxahachie -- a 60-yard touchdown run by Dominique Cannings when the game was already well out of reach.

Carter (0-2) came in to the year knowing it was at a crossroads. With just seven starters returning on both sides of the ball and little senior leadership, the Cowboys are playing underclassmen at many key positions.

Stiil, adversity is something of an unknown for Carter as it’s traditionally one of the most successful programs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, having won state titles and sent numerous players to college and the NFL.

Carter hopes to right the ship against Arlington Sequin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Kincaide Stadium. It’s the Cowboys' game before opening District 11-4A play against South Oak Cliff on Sept. 23.
