Flower Mound offense unmatched in DFW

10/11/2010

With many of the area’s high-flying passing games dropping off or transitioning into run-based offenses, Flower Mound’s offense stands alone in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Quarterback Paul Millard leads the area in passing – by a lot. The senior has thrown for 2,569 yards, 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions in six games, leading Flower Mound to a surprising 4-2 record (2-1 in District 8-5A).

Only one other quarterback in the area has breached the 2,000-yard mark (Richardson Pearce’s Mac Morse). No other Class 5A quarterback is even close to it.

Flower Mound scored 60 points for the third time this season on Friday. More surprising than the Jaguars doing it was who they did it against – Plano.

The Wildcats (4-2, 1-2) had been one of the best defenses in the area. They shut down an extremely potent Hebron offense the previous week.

Plano's defense was shredded by Flower Mound as the Jaguars tallied more than 500 yards in a 61-52 victory capped by two fourth-quarter touchdowns that iced the win.

Flower Mound plays at Lewisville on Friday.
