Standout Highland Park wide receiver Dalton Stogner tore his ACL three weeks ago in the Scots' 56-31 win over Rockwall, ending his senior season.
Stogner said he jumped up to try and pull in a high pass and twisted his knee when he landed.
Anthony Vallera filled Stogner’s shoes the following week against Wylie East, catching three passes for 78 yards. The Scots also have William Morris and Hunter Halpin as more than capable options for quarterback Brady Burgin on Highland Park’s pass-happy offense.
“We just count on guys that are working hard to get in there and play beyond their ability,” Highland Park coach Randy Allen said. “We have some depth at receiver and we have some young men that have been working hard. Our guys usually play above our expectations when we put in somebody in place of an outstanding receiver such as Dalton.”
