North Carolina won Arl. Bowie DE with honesty

By Randy Jennings

ARLINGTON, Texas -- A little honesty went a long way, helping North Carolina land Arlington Bowie defensive end Jesse Rogers.

“Some of the schools would tell me false things,’’ said Rogers (6-footo-4, 240 pounds), who signed on Wednesday. “North Carolina kept it real from the start. I appreciate that.’’

Rogers said the scenic campus in Chapel Hill, N.C., was another selling point.

“This is an emotional time for me,’’ said Rogers, who wore a light blue Carolina cap. “Signing with people that are just like my brothers.’’
