Guyer's Stewart transfers commitment to OSU

UNIVERSITY PARK, Texas – An all-star team of some of the area’s top talent is forming -- to play next season at Oklahoma State.
Added to the list of highly recruited athletes from Dallas/Fort Worth is cornerback Josh Stewart of Denton Guyer, who transferred his verbal commitment from Texas A&M to OSU this week.
“Oklahoma State is my dream school and I’m just excited I get to play at my dream school with my best friend and one of my other friends, Jimmy Bean,” Stewart said after his team’s last-minute Class 5A Division II state semifinal win over Longview.
Stewart is the third player to commit to OSU from Denton Guyer, joining J.W. Walsh and Bean. Walsh and Abilene running back Herschel Sims -- both four-star recruits rated 80 according to ESPN -- top the list of OSU recruits in the 2011 class.
“Herschel Sims is an amazing running back,” Stewart said. “I could go on and on down the list about all our recruits. They’re all amazing players, and OSU is going to be great.”
Other area players committed to OSU are OLB Nico Ornelas (Richland), RB Desmond Roland (Dallas Lake Highlands), S Lyndell Johnson (Plano East), OT Travis Cross (Plano West), S Quentin Sargent (Arlington Bowie), WR Johnny Haynes (Irving MacArthur) and ATH Jonovan Griffin (McKinney Boyd).
