High School: Jakeem Grant

Mesquite Horn receiver Jakeem Grant has switched his verbal commitment to Texas Tech and Irving defensive end Horace Arkadie has pledged to Arkansas.

Grant, a 5-foot-7, 160-pound speedster, had previously committed to Tulsa but changed his decision after coach Todd Graham left for the Pittsburgh job. He had 79 receptions for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns last season and added nine rushing touchdowns.

ESPNU ranks Grant 136th at receiver and gives him three stars with a scouting grade of 75.

Arkadie is ranked 120th at defensive end and has three stars and a grade of 76. He chose Arkansas over Virginia and Purdue.
