Class 1A Division I

Sudan 70, Martin's Mill 40
  • Sudan wins its second state championship in four seasons, with the last coming in 2009.
  • Danielle Logan led Sudan in scoring with a game-high 36 points.
  • Sudan shot 48 percent in the championship game.
Class 3A

Abilene Wylie 59, Celina 45

Class 2A

Brock 52, Poth 49
  • Brock wins its fourth straight state title and seventh since 2000.
  • TCU signee Kamy Cole led Brock in scoring with 19 and picked up a double-double with 10 rebounds. Ashley Fuller led Poth with 15.
Class 4A

Mansfield Summit 45, Rockwall 42

Class 1A Division II

Neches 60, Lipan 41
  • Neches claimed its third straight state title, advancing to a 34-5 record.
  • Roddricka Patton led Neches in scoring with 31 points.
  • Shauna Coleman was the team-high scorer for Lipan with 18.
Class 5A

Duncanville 69, Spring Dekaney 31

    CLASS 1A DIVISION I

    Sudan 64, Snook 42
    • Sudan advances to the state final with a 33-3 record.
    • Guard Jasmine Weaver and forward Bailee Black were the team high scorers with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
    • Snook forward Aleah Bowers led the game in scoring with 14 points.
    • Sudan advances to play Martin's Mill in the state final at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
    Martin's Mill 71, Kerens 52
    • Martin's Mill advances to the state final with a 36-4 record on the season.
    • Guard Haily Jenkins led Martin's Mill with 27 points and was one of three teammates to score double-digit points.
    • Kerens forward Marqueshia Kelly scored a team-high 16 points.
    • Martin's Mill advances to play Sudan in the state final at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
    CLASS 3A

    Celina 45, Lorena 32

    Abilene Wylie 65, Liberty Hill 52
    • Wylie star and A&M commit Peyton Little had an "off" game, but still led her team in scoring with 25 points. Last year Little scored 43 in a game -- the record for scoring in a girls state tournament game.
    • Taylor Russell put up 17 for Liberty Hill.
    • Wylie advances to its third straight state final in as many years and seeks its second state title against Celina at 10 a.m. Saturday.
    CLASS 4A

    Mansfield Summit 40, Barbers Hill 37

    Rockwall 48, Victoria East 35
    Irving MacArthur's state title win Saturday ended a wonderful display of girls basketball at the 2011 UIL girls state tournament. This year's tournament featured record-breaking performances, first-time winners and the beginning of dynasties.

    Below is a recap of the state championship games:

    Class 5A: Irving MacArthur 74, Georgetown 51
    • MacArthur standout Alexis Jones won the game MVP off a triple-double night. Jones scored 25 while pulling down 11 rebounds and dishing out 14 helpers. Click here for the full story.
    • Georgetown star post and LSU commit Krystal Forthan was held to 14 points on the night. Forthan was forced to sit the end of the first half after gathering a quick three fouls.
    Class 1A Division II: Neches 65, Whitharl 44
    • Roddricka Patton piled up 20 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and seven steals to lead Neches.
    Class 4A: Canyon 44, Austin LBJ 39
    • With the win in the state final, Canyon completed an undefeated 38-0 season. It is the third time in school history a team has won a state title without a loss in the season.
    • Canyon guard Nicole Hampton finished with a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double and won the game MVP award. LBJ's Alexia Hyder led the game in scoring with 19 points.
    • Nine players scored for Canyon, resulting in 15 points from the bench.
    Class 2A: Brock 47, Winnsboro 26
    • Saturday's state championship is Brock's third in as many seasons.
    • Brock's Kamy Cole led all scorers with 21 and was the game's MVP. Winnsboro's Hayley Cox led her team with 10 points
    • Brock dominated in the paint, outscoring Winnsboro 20-6. Winnsboro shot only 17.4 percent from the field in the game.
    Class 3A: Abilene Wylie 66, Lucas Lovejoy 58
    • Wylie's Peyton Little set a UIL girls state tournament single-game record with 43 points, leading to the game MVP for the junior Texas commit. Click here for the full story.
    Class 1A Division I: Smyer 52, Martin's Mill 49
    • Smyer's Haley Fowler led all scorers with 14 and won the game MVP award. Emily Williams led Martin's Mill with 12.
    • The score went back and forth throughout the game, with seven ties and lead changes.
    • Both team's shooting percentages from the field were on the low side, with Smyer shooting 40.9 percent and Martin's Mill shooting 34.
