The first losing streak of the season -- modest as it is after losses Friday and Saturday – has dropped the Mavericks to a season-low No. 8 in ESPN.com’s weekly NBA Power Rankings.

The Mavs followed up their third successive loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night with a home loss Saturday night to Atlanta, dropping them one slot from No. 7.

The rankings can be found in their entirety here.

This week’s Mavs comment:
“Just 82 points Friday night in a road L to Memphis. Just 75 points Saturday night in a home L to Atlanta. The Mavs can only hope losing two games in a row for the first time this season was just a really bad weekend.”
