DALLAS -- Dirk Nowitzki has added to his All-Star duties, but he's still the only player on the Mavericks' roster who will be featured in the weekend.

Nowitzki will be part of the Texas team in the Saturday night Shooting Stars competition. He's joined by ex-Rocket/current TNT analyst Kenny Smith and Becky Hammon of the San Antonio Silver Stars in the competition, which has a current NBA player, retired NBA player and WNBA player on each team.

While Dirk would rather relax Saturday night, Jason Terry really wants to be part of the show. However, he's not optimistic about his chances to participate in the Three-Point Contest despite the Mavs lobbying on his behalf.

Terry said Wednesday night that he hadn't heard anything from the league, so he assumed an invitation wouldn't be forthcoming.

Nevertheless, Jet will enjoy the All-Star Weekend. His Friday night party, which will be held in the Jet Aviation hangar at Love Field, ought to be one of the weekend's highlights.
