Dallas defends Durant better than anyone

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Nobody defends Kevin Durant better than the Dallas Mavericks.

Durant has averaged 15.8 points on 34.5 percent shooting against the Mavericks in his career. Those are his low marks against any team in the league by a significant margin.

The Oklahoma City Thunder star's struggles have continued against the Mavs this season. He is 10-of-36 from the floor in two games against the Mavs.

Dallas held Durant to a season-low 12 points in the Mavs' previous trip to Oklahoma City. He had 30 in a loss last month in Dallas, but Durant was only 6-of-18 from the floor. He went 14-of-16 from the free throw line, prompting Mavs coach Rick Carlisle to complain about that "stupid jump-in thing" Durant does to draw fouls.

Should the Mavs' success against Durant give them confidence they can shut him down? Not sure about that.

This is a guy who has scored at least 25 points in 25 consecutive game, the NBA's second-longest such streak since the 1991-92 season.
