DALLAS -- Reserves Jason Terry and Roddy Beaubois matched the scoring output of the Mavericks' starting lineup (30-30) -- and outscored Minnesota's starters (without Al Jefferson) by one -- in Wednesday night's first half to give Dallas a 60-53 lead heading to the locker room.

On a night when Rick Carlisle sat Jason Kidd to give him some rest, the Mavs got off to a slugglish start, falling behind 21-14 with J.J. Barea getting the start at point guard.

It took hot hands from Terry and Beaubois to get things going. Terry closed the half with 19 points, nailing 4-of-5 from 3-point range and 7-of-9 overall. Beaubois drained 3-of-4 from 3-point range and put up 11 points iand four assists.

Still, coach Rick Carlisle likely isn't smiling. The Mavs led by as many as 13 in the second quarter, but rather than put the T'Wolves away, the lead diminished.

Terry's high for a game this season is six 3-pointers. He's done it once. His next high is four, which he's done just six times in now 62 games. Beaubois' season-high is four 3-pointers, which he's done once. He's already matched his next high, hitting three long balls once as well.
