Consider Saturday night's spanking of the Mavs payback for the New York Knicks.
Shawn Marion said some of the Knicks actually mentioned the teams' previous meeting during New York's 128-94 victory. The Knicks were determined not to be embarrassed again by the Mavs, who rolled to a 128-78 rout in Madison Square Garden on Jan. 24.
Mission accomplished and then some, as the Mavs' 13-game winning streak crashed and burned in a blowout.
"Revenge is sweet sometimes," said Al Harrington, one of four Knicks who scored at least 20 points. "That’s a really good team over there, but we just caught them at the right time. They were ripe for the picking.
"When you’ve had that much success, and you know the Knicks are coming in and you feel you can score a 150 points on them in your sleep, that team didn’t show up today."
