DALLAS -- It's only preseason, but Jason Kidd vs. John Wall is a pretty intriguing matchup.
The No. 1 overall pick's ridiculous quickness left Kidd flat-footed on at least one occasion in the first quarter, but the old man was far from overmatched. In fact, the 16-year vet's statistical line is more impressive than the rookie's so far.
Kidd -- 7 points (2-3 FG), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals.
Wall -- 6 points (2-5 FG), 1 rebound, 1 assists.
But Wall's Wizards got the best of Kidd's Mavs while the starting fives were on the floor. The Mavs needed a 10-2 run by the reserves to trim the Wizards' lead to 31-26 at the end of the first quarter.
